Although interviews are multifaceted, you should be familiar with the classic questions.

Could you tell us about yourself?

This is usually the first question asked in a job interview. Since it is an open-ended question, you can turn this question to your advantage by touching on important points in your career and telling a little about yourself. Don’t go into too much detail; however, remember that the employer you are interviewing with is curious about you outside of your work processes. Your family, from your hobbieshow long you have been working in your current position, etc. The only thing you need to pay attention to here is this; provide information that you would not be uncomfortable sharing.

Why this job and why us?

Here’s another question you’ll often come across. You can turn this question to your advantage, just like the previous question, by talking about the company’s history, vision, mission, and values. Talk about how you fit into the company’s order and how your skills are a good fit for this position. You may need to do some work to get this question right, but trust us, it will help.

What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Your answer to this question will tell the interviewer a lot about you. Don’t be shy about your strengths. Be truthful, but don’t exaggerate. There’s a difference between being confident and being arrogant. Likewise, be honest about your weaknesses, but don’t be too down on yourself.

When discussing your weaknesses, it can be a good idea to mention a lack of knowledge about a program or subject, as you can always learn more by taking a class.

What makes you the ideal candidate for this position? Why should we choose you?

This is a great opportunity to talk about your skills! Share important points about your career and education with your interviewer. Also mention personal qualities such as punctuality, reliability and interest in the position.

With such an interview, you can tell them how eager and serious you are about this position and being a part of the team.
